Volunteer Education: Children & Grief

Many people have questions about how to talk to children about death and dying. What is the best way to explain what death is to a child? How young is too young to even understand death? Will I just make them sad if I bring it up? What if I traumatize them for life by something I say? These questions and more will be answered at this presentation. Most children want to talk about their loved ones who have died, and there are several important factors to consider when having these discussions with children of different ages. Come prepared to laugh, cry, and bring any questions from your own personal experiences with children who have experienced loss.
