Quality Assessment Performance Improvement Auditor

Currently recruiting for our New Braunfels office.

Job Summary:  

Performs routine audits and other focused audits as assigned and documents all findings in accordance with Hope Hospice Policy and Procedure. Follows schedule of Hope Hospice QAPI Activity Calendar for all routine audits.

Qualifications:

  1. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.  Current Texas Registered Nurse verified licensure.
  2. Minimum of two (2) years experience in nursing and two (2) years experience in home health care or hospice preferred.
  3. Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and accreditation (JCAHO, CHAP) regulations and of Performance Improvement principles preferred; willingness to learn and remain current required.
  4. Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
  5. Ability to facilitate and support change.
  6. Has prior work experience with demonstrated competency in job duties.
  7. Evidences personal integrity, appropriate personal presence, and strong work ethic.
  8. Communicates effectively, both verbal and written.
  9. Able to solve problems, make decisions, set priorities, and keep accurate, orderly records.

10.     Able to work effectively within a team approach as well as independently.

11.     Able to work flexible hours as needed.

12.   Computer and software competence required.

Required Departmental Duties and Responsibilities:

1.      Participates in the concurrent and retrospective review of medical records to assure quality patient care is reflected in documentation and that improvement processes are appropriately focused and effective.

2.      Participates in focused audits and reviews of other agency departmental documentation and procedure, as assigned, to assess departmental and agency compliance of applicable regulations and hospice standards.

3.      Completes timely reports of all audit and review findings in acceptable format of QAPI program.

4.      Reports all findings to the QAPI Director.

5.      Assists in the implementation of special programs to promote compliance and excellence.

  11. Read materials and attend in-services, seminars or conventions as needed for professional growth.
  12. Contribute to an atmosphere of excellence, mutual respect, and caring.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.
