Virtual Memory Wall

The 2008 New Braunfels Tree of Lights is featuring the all new Virtual Memory Wall!  The Virtual Memory Wall is a community project featuring photos, messages, drawings and other images displayed as a slide show at the New Braunfels Tree of Lights event as well as here on the Hope Hospice website.

The suggested donation for participation in the Virtual Memory Wall is $40.  To make this donation, please specify "Memory Wall" in the memo of your check, to the Hope Hospice staff member taking your credit card over the phone, or in the comments section of your online donation.  We will send you further instructions via e-mail so please also include your e-mail address with your donation.

The Virtual Memory Wall is a community project with participants made up of Hope Hospice supporters. It is a compilation of tributes in memory of their loved ones. These tributes can be drawings, photos, letters, scrapbook pages. These images will be on display at the Hope Hospice New Braunfels Tree Lighting Event at the New Braunfels Marketplace on Tuesday, December 2, 2008 from 5-8 p.m. and afterwards on the Hope Hospice website.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Send your donation to Hope Hospice (via the internet, phone or mail) - mention the Virtual Memory Wall along with your donation and be sure to include your e-mail address
2. You will receive a confirmation e-mail including the Virtual Memory Wall e-mail address.  Send your JPEG image to the Virtual Memory Wall e-mail address.
3. Set the Subject Line of your e-mail to the name of the person you're remembering - this doesn't have to be a legal name.  It can be a nickname or a family name like Granny Smith or Popsy
4. Do not type any text in the body of your e-mail
5. Upload one JPEG image (see below for some ideas) no larger than 10MB
6. Send it and come to the Tree Lighting at the New Braunfels Marketplace on Tuesday, December 2, 2008 from 5-8 p.m. to see the Virtual Memory Wall premiere!

Need Ideas of What to Send?

• Scan old photos in on your home scanner or at a copy center such as Sundance Print and Copy at the New Braunfels Marketplace
• Scan drawings, personal items such as wedding bands, police badges, fishing tackle, or something that reminds you of your loved one
• Take a photo of the types of personal items listed above and send it in
• Make a collage of drawings, letters, photos and personal items and scan it in
• Scan in your scrapbook pages - for scrapbooking ideas, visit the Scrapbook Haus at the New Braunfels Marketplace
• Add several photos into one JPEG image or add text to your photos with Adobe Photoshop or GIMP
• Remember that if you send a tiny photo or image, it will look very grainy on the slide show

Santa's Visit

Santa will be joining in the festivities!  Bring your camera and snap a photo of your kids, spouse or parents with the famous jolly old elf!  This year, Santa will be traveling around the Marketplace Shopping Center in a horse-drawn wagon courtesy of Hill Country Carriages.  Hop on the wagon for a ride with Santa or to travel in style around the shopping center!
